What kind of camera do you use?
Sony A7iii with a 24mm f/1.4 Lens (Landscape)
ZWO ASI 183 MM Pro (Deep Sky)
I'm new to this. What kind of telescope should I buy?
It depends entirely on your goals and target. I always recommend a wide field refractor like a RedCat 51 or an Apertura Carbonstar 150. They are more forgiving when you are learning the basics.
Do the objects really look like that out in space?
Not entirely. I typically use filters with a monochrome camera to enhance details and colors that are faint. I also use the same palette combination that the Hubble and James Webb telescopes use to generate false color images.
